Sunday night dinner

Sunday's are my favorite day of the week. I love to putter, watch golf on TV and ideally plan a great dinner with my family.  I cherish family dinner. It's the time I get to "dig in" with my kids and really talk about the in's and out's of kindergarden and 1st grade.  We play a game called Pow-Wow-Angel.  Your "pow" is something that happened to you that you didn't really care for. Your "wow" is something that was great and your "angel" is someone that you did something nice for or did something nice for you.  Sunday night is the best night for Pow-Wow-Angel as we get to re-cap the events of the previous week and plan for the week ahead.

This week my Sunday night dinner will be Crisp pancetta baked pork filet.  This is from Donna Hay's cook book New Food Fast. Really easy, no fuss dinner served over arugula. Sure to be a crowd pleaser for Sunday night dinner.

For dessert.... I am making Ina Garten's Lemon Yogurt Cake.  This is a really easy cake to make and I serve it with Liberte coconut or lemon yogurt.  It is light and delicious!

I serve this cake with a dollop of Liberte Lemon Yogurt! I also made this cake on Friday...I am not that organized on Sunday to whip up dinner and dessert!

Valentines Day pics

Valentines Day can be one of those dreaded "Hallmark Holidays." Married for 10years I sometimes dread the expectation of Valentines day.  For me, it's an excuse to have a few friends over to celebrate.

Start your day with these delicious heart shaped cinnamon rolls. Make them up the night before and bake up valentines day morning.

Serve this delicious heart shaped ganache cake for dessert at your dinner party.

Take lots of pictures of all your friends with this adorable red Leica camera!

Love these sexy red moto jeans from Balmain.  Pair with heels or flats and a simple blouse.

How will you celebrate Valentines Day?

The Perfect Little Glass

I have a thing for a small thin glass. It's so tough to find a good low ball glass, either the lip is too fat or the design isn't as elegant as its taller counterpart. I want to have just as much joy sipping from a juice glass as I do a great wine glass. So, I embarked on mission "mini glass" and lately I have found lots of great glasses to load up on.  I start my day with a hot water and lemon wedge, followed by a green juice or cashew milk. This glass is just the right size. And it's perfect for a glass of wine after a long day--or a cucumber vodka and pellegrino if it's been a really long day.

This Spanish wine glass from Canvas home store is an absolute front runner:

My green juice concoction

Another bar favorite is the Marta bar ware from CB2.  CB2 is one of my go-to's for affordable, easy entertaining staples with a modern edge. These super-thin glasses are great for serving up your favorite summer cocktails.  Can you tell I am already sick of winter?

Ina Garten's pink grapefruit margarita is my new libation of choice. Tequila and fresh grapefruit juice, need I say more? No time like the present to serve up some tangy pink grapefruit margaritas. Grapefruits and oranges are in their prime right now so squeeze yourself some fresh juice and go ahead, and plan your spring break while sipping on one of these delicious pink cocktails.
