swatch watch

have a room in need of a quickie makeover? don't fuss over custom upholstery and gobs of pricey fabric- though there certainly is a time and place for both. one of the fastest, easiest, and most affordable ways to instantly overhaul a space lies within the humble paint can.

picking the right shade can be tricky. to make things easier, we've rounded up five hues we're swooning over at GDS. from the perfect neutral to a tried-and-true trim, our paint picks are a sure bet. all you need is a little determination, an afternoon of free time (the only luxury item on the list), and a gallon or two of one of our fail-proof colors.

Deep Caviar #2130-20; Benjamin Moore
Wonderful in Satin Impervo oil gloss. Makes a bookcase and kitchen cabinets shine.

Silver Cloud #2129-70; Benjamin Moore
One of the best, best, best bedroom colors. It is the perfect light blue with the slightest tinge of grey.

White Blush #904; Benjamin Moore
Hands down, this is our favorite trim color. It's not white, it's not ivory. It's rich. Like heavy whipping cream.

Calluna #270; Farrow & Ball
A new color from paint great Farrow & Ball. Ideal with greens and blues. Try pairing in a bedroom with Sister Parish Bolero print in Fern Linen.

Skimming Stone #241; Farrow & Ball

This is a wonderful neutral. It has personality, and looks fabulous with Benjamin Moore's White Blush.
